1951–1952

Everyday life during wartime

Trainees in Motgol, workers in the fields, laundry and children on the Namcheon shore. Look closely at the hands and footsteps of people living alongside history.

1970s–1980 · also includes industrial views with uncertain dates

Paving lanes, opening hills

Coastal factories and new apartments, doorstep drains and mountain tunnels. The city took shape through construction close to everyday life.

1987–1989

To the beach, the cinema and school

Food-cart vendors, streets beneath cinema signs and a beach full of summer visitors. Work, learning and leisure give the neighborhood its many faces.

1990–1997 · includes one undated Yongho view

Residents fill the streets and courtyards

Beach festivals, traffic campaigns, district-office markets and a new university. Follow the era when Suyeong separated from Nam-gu, then walk into Yongho’s coastal village.

Bridge construction–2009

A familiar sea, a changing view

Unfinished piers become a continuous road, illuminated after dark. Campus film festivals and Daeyeon’s memorial landscape reveal the lives continuing around the bridge.

2010–2015

A sea to watch, walk beside and share

Waterfront steps, café windows, promenades and festival stages. Among taller buildings, the sea remains part of the neighborhood’s places to rest, meet and live.
